This work is a comprehensive discussion of diffusion of technology, in which the importance of the analysis of matters inherent to technology in itself are enhanced. The relationships between economies of central and peripheric countries and between small scale and entrepeneurial production are considered important for the understanding of diffusion of technology. In this respect, the role of the State and its institutions in the brazilian agricultural modernization model is also pointed out. Small scale production is discussed in view of a supposed existence of an ideal technology.Downloads
