This article stresses the research of transgenic organisms as a component of S&T system. This approach allows consideration of additional aspects usually neglected by scientists, planners and managers. The most important is the research dependency on informational technologies. In Brazil, this fact makes the S&T system vulnerable in relation to the following aspects: the research becomes routine highly dependent on velocity and capacity of available tools (laboratory equipment) that creates a network of research with inherent inequalities on a world wide bases aiming mainly to provide information, exploring and describing data, without intellectual challenges. Due to the transgenic research characteristics, the major goal is to present the new research constraints that the managers must consider in order to strength the national S&T system.Downloads
