Abstract

This paper reffers to institutional change in Brazilian agricultural research. In the changing context, paradigmatic transformations in S&T are considered and as they reflect in agricultural modern pattern. The current institutional structures and the role that the agricultural research state systems would play in current changing process are discussed. The final part of the paper considers the need of restructuration of the State systems to the new context, and their rellevance to the Brazilian Agricultural Research System (SNPA) consolidation.
