Due to the impossibility of a consensual definition for biotechnology, which is attained to the complexity of agreement within diverse interests, a revision of the concept is made on the basis of dictionaries, experts and institutions. The "old" biotechnology is reported and the "old" and "new" biotechnologies are discerned; afterwards, the battle performed by partners in order to stablish a biotechnology definition is analysed. Which definition will be the best? The disagreement of interests built in the controversy raises only a small part of an iceberg of deeper economical and political contradictions - existing and potential - related to the so called biorevolution.Downloads
