A MODERNA BIOTECNOLOGIA E O DESENVOLVIMENTO DA AMAZÔNIA

Resumen

Este artigo constitui um ensaio a respeito da moderna biotecnologia e o seu potencial bioindustrial nas áreas de agricultura e agroindústria. Nessa perspectiva é analisada a participação da Amazônia nesse contexto, por meio das variáveis que lhe são atualmente pertinentes: biodiversidade, deficiência de investimentos com capitais regionais, regulamentação ao acesso e proteção aos recursos genéticos, e conhecimentos tradicionais associados, experiência amazônica com programas de desenvolvimento regional e infra-estrutura de pesquisa em biotecnologia na Amazônia.

THE MODERN BIOTECHNOLOGY AND DEVELOPMENT OF AMAZON REGION
ABSTRACT
This article is an analysis of the modern biotechnology and its bioindustry potential in the areas of agriculture and agribusiness. In this perspective Amazonia's participation has been analysed, through of the characteristic variables: biodiversity, deficiency of investment with regional funds, regulation of the access of genetics resources and associated traditional knowledge, amazonic experience with regional development and establishment of biotechnology research in Amazonia.
