The science of intellectual property: analysis of theses and dissertations defended in the postgraduate program in intellectual property science of the Federal University of Sergipe

Development of a postgraduate program in intellectual property science in an interdisciplinary manner may become relevant in the development of this science. The present research aimed to present and analyze the theses and dissertations defended in the postgraduate program in intellectual property science (PPGPI) at the Universidade Federal do Sergipe (UFS).. This is a quantitative/descriptive study that analyzed dissertations and theses defended in the PPGPI until December 2017, by means of the final documents made available in the university repository. The study analyzed the methodology, the summary and the introduction. The results showed that there is a predominance of quantitative research, with a documental strategy. The predominant research object is the study of patents. Regarding teacher training, there is a diversified training with a predominance of exact sciences. The training of students of the graduation works is predominantly in Administration, but it is greatly diversified.
