Planosol temperature in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil

Abstract

The characterization of the planosol temperature in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, is presented. These data were obtained through observations on geothermometers and geothermographers at 2, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 80 and 100 cm of depth. Data of ten years (1957-66) observations are presented and discussed. Hourly, decennial, monthly and yearly temperature averages, minima and maxima ones, per depth are shown on tables and figures. Analysis of these data showed the planasol thermal distribution and characterized the limitrophe zone with large thermal oscillations.
