Abstract

The fungi are the best studied pathogens in Brazil. More than 20 genera have been identified in the country. Most of these entomopathogenic fungi has enzootic and epizootic occurrence on important pests with good potential to microbial control. The introductions and augmentation are good strategies used in insect control. This review discusses the prospects of the use of entomopathogenic fungi in pest control in Brazil.
