Explants of banana cultivar Prata (AAB), with 5 mm3 isolated from lateral suckers were established with 28 days of incubation in a modified Murasbige & Skoog (MS) medium, supplemented with 5 mg1-1 of BAP. Posteriorly they were multiplied in a new medium and in 2,5; 5,0 and 7,5 mg1-1 of BAP concentration and obtained two to four shoots per explant with 2,5 mg1-1 of BAP. The shoots were induced for rooting the hall of concentration mineral salt of "MS" medium, complemented with 0,1; 0,2; 1,0 and 5,0 mg1-1 of IBA; 1 mg1-1 of IBA + 0,4 mgr' of BAP and 0,25% of activated charcoal. The rooting occurred seven days after, in 5 mg1-1 of IBA. After that, on a new medium the plantlets were developed in absence of growth regulators and transfered to plastic pots containing organic compound, venniculite and macro and micronutrients
