Rootstocks for ‘Natal' sweet orange

A rootstock trial was carried out with five different citrus trees to find the best one for 'Natal' sweet orange. It was used a randomized block design, with three trees per plot, five replications, in a 7 m x 7 m spacing. The soil was classified as 'tabuleiro". ‘FM Rough' lemon, 'Florida Rough' lemon and ‘Rangpur' lemon have shown the best performance as vigor and yield are concerned. 'Caipira' seet orange and 'Dancy' mandarin were the worst ones. Regarding to fruit quality, no significant differences were observed.
