The incidence of neoplasms in bovines processed in a Brazilian slaughter-house

Abstract

The authors report an incidence of 36 neoplasms found in a total of 165,454 bovines averaging 4 years for males and 7.5 years for females, slaughtered in Brazil, over a period of 11 months. The neoplasms were diagnosed as: 11 lymphosarcomas, 8 kidney adenocarcinomas, 7 neurogenic sarcomas, 6 pheochromoblastomas, 3 fibrosarcomas and 1 malignant hepatoma. The paper describes the anatomy and histopathology of the cases reported.
