A wide number of research work has been developed in the seed preconditioning area. In order to contribute with the application of the needed techniques, hydric, osmotic, matric and pressure potentials were pointed out with the interrelation of Thermodynamics and Seed Technology. Then, based on Michel & Kaufmann's (1973) work, a table was made relationing osmotic potential and temperature with polyethilene glycol 6000 concentration.
