The Family Farm Harvest Plan for More Food aimed to strengthen the activity of millions of family farmers' properties, which are responsible for more than two thirds of the food consumed by Brazilians, and was based on three pillars: credit, commercialization and knowledge. This article will focus on this last pillar, through the experience of this Program in the state of São Paulo between the following Brazilian organizations: Brazilian Ministry of Agrarian Development, São Paulo's Agency for Agribusiness Technology, Coordination of Integral Technical Assistance, Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, Federation of Family Farm Workers (FAF) and Federation of Agricultural Workers of the state of São Paulo (Fetaesp). Management structure; integration between different organizations; collective construction of the process; training of local agents to support projects of Technical Assistance and Rural Extension (ATER) and research; and integration of the young farmer: they served as the basis for the used methodology. Numerous activities were held in two territories in this state, involving the products pineapple, guava, lemon, milk, cassava, peach and tomato, besides training workshops for ATER and research local agents. The evaluation of the results of the project in this state was quite satisfactory.Downloads
