Abstract

Embrapa Swine and Poultry has a tradition of valuing RD&I (Research, Development and Innovation) and technology business, with historically relevant contributions to solve the bottlenecks in agribusiness of these two chains, and an emphasis on improving the management of the transfer of research results. This paper presents the construction of a multicriteria model for assessing the potential for negotiating the generated technologies with technology-based companies (TBC), with emphasis on features to highlight strengths and weaknesses, indicate the relevance of the transfer, direct the negotiation and reveal aspects that should be adjusted during the cooperation. The methodology used was that of a Multicriteria Decision Aid, by using the MACBETH method. Ten evaluation criteria were built and grouped into three areas of interest: State of the art technology, Attractiveness to TBC, and Social, environmental and institutional impacts. This model was shown to be relevant, viable and replicable to other technology businesses, since it qualifies the technology management in the case of technologies with a great commercial potential and also helps in research improvement.
