The adoption of the territorial perspective of the rural development has required new approaches of work to public and private agents of research and development. In this regard, the organization of networks of productive units for the technology transfer and innovation in the rural environment is one of the current proposed plans in the state of Paraná, Brazil. The purpose of this study is to show some of the initial results observed in the territory of Norte Pioneiro, state of Paraná, discussing issues related to working methods and presenting the results of the socioeconomic diagnosis of the production systems studied. The research examined 57 family production units indicated by technicians from Emater in the five chosen production systems, respecting the combination of the productive activities. The production systems focus on the coffee culture grown in monoculture, or on diversified systems – milk + coffee, strawberry + coffee, olericulture + coffee, and grains + milk. It is expected that this study might contribute to the rural territorial development and access to technologies adapted to the needs of each analyzed activity, generating an increase in the competitiveness of family farming in the territory of Norte Pioneiro Paranaense.Downloads
