In recent years, the participation of women in the job market has increased, but there is still room for growth, especially in the agribusiness sector. Succession in rural areas has always been influenced by cultural traditions that tend to favor the choice of the male child to take over the family business, and this situation justifies the choice to study women’s condition in such a scenario. The objective of this study is to compare how scientific literature treats the themes of women’s participation in agribusiness and generational succession in the years 2004 and 2014, seeking to understand whether there was a change in the content of the research carried out. To this end, a descriptive and exploratory research was carried out, searching for publications in a database, and, afterwards, a classic content analysis was performed on the articles. The 2014 texts discuss the invisibility of female work, while the 2024 texts analyze women’s participation in agribusiness, highlighting inequalities such as the pay gap. Furthermore, recent studies emphasize access to finance as a means of female empowerment. Both studies highlight the importance of recognizing and valuing women’s work, reflecting the evolution of the debate on gender and work over the years.
