The traditional vision of the development is limited to the economical dimension. The debate on the sustainability of this process joins the social and environmental dimensions, establishing the concept of sustainable development, that is seen as a way to obtain life quality, respecting the cultural characteristics and the ecological limits. The globalization of the economy has incited the historical selectivity of the process of economical development, but considering that the capitalist decisions are made based on local characteristics, the possibilities to establish politics for local development are discussed based on the diffusion of agroecological production systems.Downloads
