FISHING MAP OF SOUTHERN PATAGONIA: TOWARD A DEMAND OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SECTOR

Abstract

The structural changes operated on the economy and the nation and their impact on the development in the 90´s in the country and with particular emphasis in the patagonian southern region adds up to the analysis of their future projections and outlines to be developed in function of science and technology. The economic and social demands faced by the provincial states in the last years have urged to certain transformations in their actions therefore demanding the revision of their role within the environment and the scientific and technological policies aimed at achieving the development for the whole population. This paper. Tries to transwer the following questions which was process carried out by the patagonian provinces it regards the fishing activity? to what extent does the scenario of the 90´s open a certain inflection point to think about new articulation forms of the scientific-technological policies patterns and the potential developments in the sector? which is the viability and development perspectives and integration that the managerial structures, the government sectors and the institutions of the scientific-technological system of the patagonian provinces face?
