The modernization of the Brazilian agriculture, intensified on the 60s, by the desenvolvimentist programs, made necessary the reestruturation of the technic-cientific basis and the implantation of special programs with the major importance for the generation of the Extensão Rural services and for the habilitation and trainee of qualified persons. This increased the needs of cooporation of technic and Superior Agriculture Schools by the teaching and the instalation of the Trainee Center of persons for Extensão Rural. An example of this coorporation was the generation at the Rural University of Minas Gerais (UREMG) of the Regular Course of Extensão Rural, from wich the discipline Extensão Rural came by the minimum curriculum of the graduating courses. Involving, in the same perspective, internal aspects of your pedagogic practice (technic dimension) and the identification of the interference and reference established by external factors on this practice (socio-political dimension) this report shows the by passes of the Extensão Rural teaching on the curriculum of the agrarian courses. Within the conclusions about the practice of this discipline, we noted that it's teaching was instituted at the Federal University of Viçosa as a consequence of a project, from whom the formation of professionals was one of the requirements for the economic-social desenvelopment, and its legitimity came true with the association of external factors, from wich we mark the extensionist practice in Brazil. It is clear, however, that the academic enviroment of the Federal University of Viçosa, where the experiences of extension are constant, is associated to its tradition/option for the agrarian area, which cooperated for the firmation of this teaching as an academic practice.Downloads
