This paper analyses the impact at the National Congress of the evaluations made by rural workers organized in labour unions about technological modernization in agriculture. Questions raised by rural workers in some counties of the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro and Pernambuco guided interviews with senators and representatives with greater popular support in those counties as well as with the chairmen of the commissions of Agrarian Reform, Agriculture and Rural Policy, Science and Technology. Except for commissions chairmen and Rio Grande do Sul representatives, all other congressmen made a general and superficial speech on agriculture technological modernization and its implications on rural workers. Finally the paper aims at pointing out technology as a field of rural workers citizenship construction.Downloads
