This work intends to trace the political proposals directed towards the scientific and technological advancement of agriculture made between the Development Council's Goal Plan and the 3rd. National Development Plan. Precisely, it attempts to relate those measures to the demands derived from the growth, deversification and transformation of the agricultural sector during that period. It also shows the transition from modernizing intentions lacking an adequate set of instruments to an effective modernization policy for the sector, with important scientific and technological implications, culminating with the consolidation of a science and technology policy for agriculture.Downloads
