This work aims at determining the relations which exist between the State and the rural labor unions as well as the type of perception of the latter regarding the process of implementation of high technology in agriculture in Brazil. It initially attempts to draw a picture of the brazilian labor union structure and the role of the corporative state as a controller of organized labor. It analyzes the rural labor unions' activities, viewing their performance as a result of structural as well as conjunctural determinants.Downloads
