Abstract

Consumers are increasingly demanding for food production, safety, and quality. These new consumer trends allow of more ground gaining in the market for organic products. Among organic foods, milk corresponds to 20% of sales, which ranks second behind fruits and vegetables. However, little is known about the market for consumers of organic dairy products. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the consumer profile of organic dairy products in Brazil. For this, a virtual questionnaire was carried out between June 28 and July 20, 2022 that included responses from all regions of Brazil. The results indicated that the consumption of organic dairy products is associated to higher income levels. The main hindrances to the increasing of consumption were the high prices of milk products and the difficulty of finding them.
