Although the National Program for the Strengthening of Family Farming (Pronaf) is recognized today as an unique initiative of public politics turned to the reality of the small producer, the managers group capacity is still questioned with regards to its promotion of solid articulations and the way it addresses the resources of the called Pronaf Infrastructure for effective regional development programs. Given this, the purpose of thist article is to evaluate the current limits to the implementation of a proposal of territorial development and to show how the agencies of Rural Extension can contribute to the materialization of this purpose. Analyzing the case of the Pole Colatina (ES), two subjects have showed to be of particular interest to illustrate the limits of the territorial politics: 1) there seems to be a certain difficulty among the municipal representatives to overcome the logic of the local benefit; 2) there is an enormous difficulty in taking the debate to the bases. So, it is put as an imperious demand for the services of Rural Extension to get involved in that debate, putting its accessibility to the rural producers and to the institutional way in order to favor of the fluency of the information flow around the process that is in course.Downloads
