Abstract

The Penman equation for potential evapotranspiration was simplified in the aerodynamic term, replacing that by Piche evaporation for Londrina and Ponta Grossa regions. Coefficients for monthly, Spring-Summer, Autumn-Winter and annual periods were estimated using ten-day data average. Comparison between original Penman and simplified equation for annual period showed excellent adjustment for both sites. The expressions obtained for ETP calculation were:

Londrina: ETP = (∆/∆+ɣ)(H/59) + (0.06 + 0.26 Epi)

Ponta Grossa: ETP = (∆/∆+ɣ) (H/59) + (0.13 + 0.33 Epi).

These equations make it possible to recover historical ETP data for crop water requirement calculation purposes.
