Abstract

This research was performed, under field conditions, at the Videira Experiment Station (Santa Catarina, Brazil), in order to detect possible effects of growth regulators on the development of apple cultivars Gala and Fuji (Malus domestica Borkh). Promalin, which is a mixture of gibberellins and cytokinin 6-BA, was used at the concentrations 0, 50, 100, 150, and 200 ppm. Each concentration was sprayed on the clusters of selected limbs. The Promalin treatments did not affected significantly the length, diameter, fruit shape and weight, number seed, flesh firmness, juice sugar and acidity content at the harvest and fruit set, but increased significantly the diameter of apical depression of fruit on floral area rest.
