Abstract

Studies on root development of 'Peróla' pineapple have shown that root development starts from the 5th to the 10th day after planting; basal roots are able to grow through leaves from the 10th to the 15th days; adventitious roots develop after fifteen days and secondary roots from the 15th to the 20th day. Flowering occurred 466 day, after planting and lasted for 20 days; it took 612 planting to fruit maturity and 144 days from last flowers to maturity.
