Research and technical dissemination of agrometeorological information to associates ABC cooperatives

Abstract

This article is a compilation of the activities of the ABC Foundation in the agrometeorology, since the mechanism adopted for the formulation and verification of hypotheses, even the form of disclosure. The organizational level between research, cooperatives and rural extension should be considered. The choose of agrometeorological information was based on the demands of the technical assistants and farmers, where they emphasized the challenges and opportunities. On a local scale, stands out positively increased investments for research in agrometeorology, expanding the network of automatic weather stations and the hiring of specialized human resources. The agrometeorological information is inserted in all decisionmaking processes, mainly due to the good performance of agrometeorological models (plant growth, diseases, pests and weeds), coupled to numerical weather prediction models. We also highlight the information by remote sensing on the basis of several practical applicability. The spread of information over the Internet and application proved to be efficient. On a larger scale, we highlight as negatives the disorganization of the private sector to support projects of interest, lack of awareness and knowledge of the technical assistants and the lack of perception of agricultural reality by the public research.
