The paper raises specific data on the presence of computers and the appropriation of the internet by the Brazilian rural environment. Even considering that the rural environment has experienced drastic transformations throughout the last three decades, which has demanded from rural producers a shift of attitude, the problem of digital exclusion has been aggravated in this environment. The results showed how the problematic of diffusion of innovations within the rural environment is connected to the barriers of connection and the issue of digital literacy.Downloads
