The communication activities that supported, in the recent past, the process of technology transfer (TT) at Embrapa, do not seem to maintain an adequate level of efficiency and effectiveness. The fast changes that have been taking place in the production chains, the increasing competition in a global level and the availability of more complex and sophisticated technologies are demanding changes in the modus operandi of technology transfer of research and development institutions. The essay presents concepts and tools capable of helping institutions to rearrange the structure and proceed with a reengineering of TT processes that facilitate, increase the reach and speed up the process of technological innovation in the different production chains. Based on cloud computing technology and ongoing technical assistance, it is suggested to create national innovation networks with clusters per production chains.Downloads
