Innovation and technology centers (NITs), created by law and maintained within science and technology institutions (ICTs), play an important role in the transfer of innovation and technology, as well as generate knowledge, helping with the development of the country; therefore, the management of innovation is essential to achieve the role of these nuclei. The objective of this research was to analyze the development of innovation management in NITs implemented in Brazil. For this, a descriptive and exploratory research was carried out, with qualitative and quantitative approaches, using the multiple case study method, with bibliographical, documental, and normative surveys, and the application of an electronic questionnaire and the accomplishment of semi-structured interviews. It was observed that, until then, there is no ideal management model for NIT; however, the improvement of innovation management is possible through three pillars (dissemination, interaction, and planning), which need to be strengthened to change the social reality of the country, whether at the local, regional, or national level.
