Forms of potassium were determined in twenty soils from the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. For each of these forms, the critical level in relation to relative growth was determined using different mathematical models. That the critical level of this element in the soil depends on the mathematical model used to adjust the data was positively established. These levels vary according to the method of extraction used in the determination of this element.
