The scientific research is essential in the framework of actions for the conservation and preservation of biological diversity, whether through species mapping, identification of new territories for protection, or development of effective management models. Thus, this work aimed to systematize the state of the art on scientific knowledge within the Guapiaçu Ecological Reserve (Regua), located in the Atlantic Forest biome, in the municipality of Cachoeiras de Macacu, Rio de Janeiro. To achieve this objective, a quantitative and descriptive research approach was adopted, supported by the Portal de Periódicos da Capes and Google platforms, from which articles on the reserve were collected. In total, 80 articles were analyzed with the help of Bibliometrix and Excel software. The results indicate that the Guapiaçu Ecological Reserve (Regua) has emerged as an area of interest for researchers from various fields and countries. Many studies have contributed significantly, especially those addressing datadeficient and endangered species, providing crucial information to guide conservation efforts. Additionally, there has been an increase in the number of studies offering recommendations and highlighting limitations, benefiting not only future researchers but also reserve managers in directing necessary actions for the comprehensive conservation of the local ecosystem.
