The objective of this study was to evaluate the evolution of banana production between 2013 and 2023 in state of Goiás, Brazil. Data from the Mauro Borges Institute of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies (IMB) were used to analyze banana production in the state during this period. The research covered all 246 municipalities of Goiás, focusing on harvested área (in hectares), production (in tons), and productivity (t.ha-1). An analysis on the variation in harvested area was conducted, complemented by an analysis of banana prices traded at Ceasa, which is located in the municipality of Goiânia (Goiás) and is the state’s largest distribution center. Within the studied timeframe, Anápolis, Uruana, Pirenópolis, Itaguaru, Buriti Alegre, Santa Izabel, São Luís de Montes Belos, Itauçu, Jaraguá, and Petrolina de Goiás were the municipalities with the highest average production. In all the municipalities studied, fluctuations were observed in both cultivated area and productivity.Particularly regarding cultivated area, a reduction was evident, mainly due to the rapid spread of Panama disease in the region. The Prata and Terra cultivars
stood out for having the highest average market values, while the Ouro cultivar showed greater average price stability and was the only cultivar not traded in all price quotations evaluated during 2024.
