Determining the critical period of the upland cotton plant to the boll weevil attack, and studying the tatics of integrated pest management, the results showed that the critical period was found to be from the appearance of the first square to the setting of the first open bolls; 10% of the squares (with oviposition punctures) may be considered as a control level for boll weevil; the biological complex of natural enemies present in the cotton ecosystem was able to control the cotton aphid; the tatic that best fited for economic and ecological purposes was the use of cypermethrin 30 ED (3.95 g of a.i/ha) with the bozzle nozzle of the ElectroDyn sprayer between rows, 20 cm above the crop canopy, with two rows treated per step, being applied this treatment, from the appearance of the first square to the selting of the first open bolls in the culture, using a control level of 10% of damaged squares.
