Abstract

bench test was conducted, in 1985, using a crushed seed of each one of the twelve cultivars of Brassica napus L. vax. oleifera Metzg. and one of Brassica campestris L. available. After crusbing, the seeds were embibed on 1 ml of distilled water, during 24 hours at room temperature, and submitted to reaction on uroanalysis test paper containing glucose-oxidase-peroxidase and a chromogen for determining the concentration of glucose. The positive nonmesuared correlation between the results obtained through this glucose test and the data of determination of glucosinolates by gas/liquid chromatography for the same cultivars as published in the current bibliography, indicates the validity of that test for the mentioned purposes, although some methodological improvements are needed to acquire the desirable rapidity and accuracy.
