Abstract

- A new model of rubber bark extractor is
proposed, that raises the efficiency of extracting bark samples
to anatomic analyses of latex vessels. The old extractors
allowed the extraction of 320 to 350 samples a day, with two
workers. The new one increases this efficiency to 1,000
samples a day. The new extractor was also tested successfully
with other arboreous species of Amazônia, like Sorva (Couma utilis), Biribá (Rollinia mucosa) and Andiroba (Carapa guianensis). This extractor can be utilized in many botanical
laboratories in bark analysis
