Systemic insecticides are soluble in water. This solubility is not always desirable specially when those insecticides are used in legumes and horticulture. In this paper we are reporting a method which increases the period of action of systemic insecticides. The method consists in conditioning the granules of insecticides in gelatin capsules which liberates the active ingredients slowly and continuously offering a better and longer protection to the target plants. The gelatin capsules method when compared with the traditional methods showed better performance. The residues analyses of insecticides and their metabolites in the fruits are also reported in this paper. The experiment was carried on tomato plants (Lycopersicum esculentum) and the objective was the control of aphids and trips, and the insecticides used were Aldicarb and Carbofuran.
