Abstract

The indirect haemagglutination inhibition test was utilized to determine the prevalence of antibodies to Toxoplasma gondii in pedigree swine from 61 farms, representing 61.2% of the total purebreed breeders affiliated to the Associação Catarinense de Criadores de Suínos. Sera samples of 1.033 swines were analysed. Twelve samples (1.16%) from seven herds (11.47%) were considered positive. The sera titles ranged from 1:64 to 1:512. Sera with title equal or higher than 1:64 were considered positive.
