Abstract

The persistence of metribuzin in five São Paulo State, Brazil, soils was investigated under field conditions of soybeans (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) crops. Cucumber and oat bioassays determined under a phytotron conditions indicated that metribuzin was quickly lost from soils. Four weeks after its application in pre-emergence, metribuzin (0,525 - 0,875 kg/ha) did not present residual bioactivity any more, at 0 to 10cm of depth in loamy and clay soils.
