Abstract

This paper reports the results of a survey of the strawberry nematode, Meloidogyne hapla, in ninety three fruit producing farms and seven strawberry nurseries. One hundred and forty-five samples were collected from fifteen fruit producing municipalities. Fifty-seven of these samples were infested with this nematode. Twenty-two nursery samples were also collected from six municipalities. Four of these samples contained this nematode. This paper also presents recommendations and means of preventing the disseminations of this nematode.
