Four trials were carried out in greenhouse with rice blast susceptible cultivars and isolates of Pyricularia oryzae Cav. differing in virulence levels (IB, IG, II and IG + IB), in order to study the cross protection or induced resistance phenomenon. The result obtained showed that rice plants inoculated with less virulent P. oryzae race groups had induced resistance to more virulent groups, inoculated 48 hours after. This induction was showed between race groups differing in virulence (II x IB, II x IG, IG x IB+ IG and IG x IB).
