Abstract

Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) yields related to six levels of nitrogen application have been determined in soils of a particular producing area of Minas Gerais which responds to this element. A linear response was obtained in two tests and both linear and quadratic effects in one of them. The economic interpretation by cost-return method using both market price and support price have shown that N at 20 kg/ha afforded the best return tax while N at 80 kg/ha gave the best net return.
