A work carried out with pineapple slips of different weights showed that the heavier slips (180-200 g) gave an earlier fructification than the lighter ones, after six months of planting. The difference was significant on the level of 1%, the heavier slips giving 45,8% of the plants with an earlier fructification; the other classes of slips didn't give any fructification after that period of time.
