Abstract

Ten samples of Dermatophilus congolensis were isolated from cattle of São Paulo, Guanabara, Rio de Janeiro, Piauí, Espírito Santo and Goiás. Some physiological characteristics, such as the influence of certain factors over proteolytic activity, the role of CO2, in the life cycle, sensibility to penicillin and negative aerotaxis of the zoospores were studied. Solid, semi-solid and liquid media were applied to morphological studies.
