Abstract

Rhodesgrass scale, Antonina graminis (Maskeli) was found to be present over, virtually, the entire country of Brazil. The scale was found infesting 92 different grasses. A list of these grasses with both scientific and common Brazilian names is included. Three of the most important Brazilian pasture grasses (Panicum purpurascens, Digitaria decumbens, and Melinis minutiflora) were found to be severely attacked by the Rhodesgrass scale.
