Enzootic hepatoma in rabbits

Abstract

During the post-mortem examination of 302 grown rabbits, all from the same farm, where the author has described previously an enzootic hepatoma, the author relates 7 new cases of hepatoma (2,3%). In 3 cases the tumor occurred in animals of the Vienna breed, in 2 cases in the Chinchilla breed, in one case in the White New Zealand breed and in one case in animal of not specified breed. In 3 cases the tumor was observed in females, in 3 cases in males and in 1 case the sex was not specified. In 4 cases the tumor had metastases and in 3 cases the tumor was limited to the liver. The metastases occured most frequently in the lungs (4 cases).
