Actual problems of amazonic juticulture

In this work the authors stated the present problems that hamper the development of the jute in the Amazon, pointing out the great importance of this tiliacea as a source of supplying the internal Brazilian market with the necessary raw material in order to cover the demand of the national industry of fibres. The problems considered in this work were as follows: 1) the agricultural problem, 2) social and economic problems. It was briefly stated as well the situation of the national market and its possibilities of exportation. As a conclusion, the authors admitted the urgent need of stimulating economically the jute cultivator, so that it can be shown later on that the volume and quality of the product depend mostly on techonological and agricultural problems.
