In order to develop a live vaccine of the strain 1002 of Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis, initial experiments were carried out with preparations of this microorganism. This strain, naturally of low virulence, was further attenuated in a 7-day thermic (37°C) treatment. This vaccine was first tested as to innocuousness and dose adequacy after which the field experiment was made. This experiment consisted of three treatments: twelve goats vaccinated with the live vaccine, twelve vaccinated with the dead vaccine and 12 inoculated with a 0,15 M saline solution. The preliminary results of this experiment show that the living vaccine induced a humoral response and a significant immunoprotection level. These results were compared with the data obtained from dead vaccine.Downloads
