This work reports the occurrence of Babesia caballi and Babesia equi in 9 of 14 horses. The technique utilized was the smear of a drop of blood clot. The parasitaemia was not related to the clinical signs in equine babesiosis. The current use of this technique in the laboratorial diagnosis of equine's haemoprotozoa is here discussed.Downloads
